I was recommended to Salt House by a friend as a 'must visit' when I went to Cairns and I'd happily give anyone else the same recommendation. The tomahawk steak was the best I have ever had, and adding the scallop topper was absolutely perfect. Even if the steak had been half as good as it was, I'd have said the service was worth the visit alone. Our server (I wish I remembered her name, but she hails from California if that helps her get the appropriate kudos) was exceptional. I had asked for a specific drink that wasn't available, and totally unprompted she brought out a little test sip of something she thought would be similar and it was ordered and re-ordered. As the uninformed tourist trying the 'lemon, lime and bitters' as a mocktail and then ordering it everywhere else, much like the whole meal, Salt House did it the very best in Cairns.
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. We had the mushroom tart (yum as!), the fish with sides (the strawberry sauce was unexpectedly tasty) and the pav (cant go wrong) Simone was a great waiter and was very attentive. Would recommend this place for a special night out in cairns.

We were visiting from Adelaide and had the most amazing experience here. Food was so fresh and flavourful, waitstaff were absolutely Devine and children’s food was such good quality . Highly recommended- we will certainly be visiting again!
Eat here!!!! We ate at Salt House yesterday to celebrate our birthdays, as my Wife and I share the day with 2 days apart. The staff were absolutely lovely, and constantly filled our glasses, both with our Wine and water. When our seafood platter came out, we were so surprised with the effort the chefs had put into presentation, as it was so beautiful. It tasted as amazing as it looked too! Soft, flavorful, and with the perfect twist of flavor with the sauce variety. Endlessly wonderful, food, drinks, atmosphere, staff, and their place was perfect for a night out! Additionally, they brought dessert with sparking candles!!!!!! So unexpected, and we will recommend to all our friends who travel! Left a generous tip, and left knowing our taste buds were satiated. Salt House was the perfect ending to our holiday in Cairns and an amazing spot to celebrate my partner’s birthday. The atmosphere is just beautiful — relaxed yet refined, with the perfect vibe for a special evening. Our server, Marcus, was exceptional — friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly looked after. The food was incredible from start to finish. We started with the ceviche and beef skewers — both bursting with flavour — and then shared the 1.0 kg steak cooked perfectly to medium (exactly how we like it!). Every bite was spot on. Unfortunately, we had to leave earlier than planned and missed out on dessert, which we were really sad about — but that just gives us a reason to come back! Overall, Salt House exceeded our expectations. The pricing felt fair for a fine dining restaurant of this quality. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Cairns — especially for a special occasion.
I went there 2 nights in a row. The place is amazing. Beautiful venue!!! Plenty of space, very comfortable and cozy. Great cocktails, good food! Friendly staff! One evening live music, the next dj. I definitely recommend this place. I'll come again next time I'll be in cairns and will tell my friends about it when they come in town
We had a wonderful experience at Salt House Cairns. The place is absolutely beautiful, with stunning spaces and an amazing atmosphere. The service was excellent — the staff were so kind and attentive. They were our partners in making my partner’s birthday celebration truly special. We loved the food — every dish was delicious — and the recommendations from our server were spot on. It was such a beautiful and memorable dinner. Highly recommended!
Had the most amazing vegan meal. Very inventive and very delicious. The dessert was equally divine. Nice to see a chef whom caters to vegans outside the usual standard boring meal of salads, crumbed eggplant. Definitely worth a visit if you thrive on plant based
